Adhoc, Vigo art
At number 9 of rúa Joaquín Loriga de Vigo, there is a space consisting of a ground floor and a basement. The decor changes every three months, mutating from painting the walls to strangers videos projected on white canvas, through paintings, sculptures and what they call 'performances'. For at the number 9 of Joaquín Loriga de Vigo there is Ad Hoc Gallery, with over 20 years behind it loaded with works of art.
Inés Ramiro, its directress since 2000, explains that "the way to find artists from Vigo is the same as in other places." Albeit with dossiers sent by Internet or taken by hand by the gallery; by visiting fairs and participating in them and, of course; "through the School of Fine Arts in Pontevedra", 15 km from Vigo. This is how Jorge Perianes, an interventionist, came into the gallery, the Nano 4814 graffiti painter or that close to the EME skating world.
"Our job," said Ramiro, "is to present artists through exhibitions, exchanges with other galleries, fairs ...". And then to try to sell the works of these artists, "to both individuals and institutions." These sales are made through exhibitions and the day-to-day work of the gallery.
Among the most important creators in this gallery are Ruben Hand, Carme Nogueira or the aforementioned Jorge Perianes, although she says that "we are proud of all of our artists." That’s who they work for, every day.
